Went to start my brother's 318 and could not get spark, I found this broken off and I assume it is the cause of the issue, can I just splice the green wires together and just bypass the brittle plastic?

Uhh, I think you'll find that both of those green wires need to go to the points...t he connection in that plastic broken part... but it's been
a while. Can you post a pic with the cap off?
That would totally cause a no- start.
