    Intake manifold stud coming out

I spent today removing my intake manifold in preparation of removing the starter once my new gaskets arrive, while doing that one of the studs that hold the intake manifold on backed out quite a bit, what is the correct procedure for re-screwing the stud back into the head? I read somewhere else that you can use a rubber hose and some vise grips but that sounds risky, so does the double nut method since I could see myself destroying the threads.

Digger gave you the answer.Bolt 2 nuts together screw them both against each other in the stud at the same time (tight the one above and loosen the one below) till they stick together then tighten the whole stud to the head by tightening the above nut .

never once had an issue with the "double nut" method.
