    M20 triple weber Jets size

    Hi all!

    Me again, with another problem, but this one is a little bit wierd hahaha

    Me and my old man started taking off the triple Webers that our Hartge H26 engine came with, but we had a surprise: each jet has a different size.

    It seems that some old owners negleted it so much that didnt even care how it was fixed...

    I'm attaching a pic for reference.

    Our doubt is: which size jets (gicleurs) should we go for "high" and which size for "low"? I know its very variable but we would like to find some common ground to start with.

    They are 3 IDF Webers 40's.

    Anyone had any experience with this? :)

    Can you look at the plugs to see which ones look best and decide from there?

      I'd take the average on sizes and start there. Is it economical to buy 3 qty of a few sizes and just try them?

        I thought that there was a standard size that they came with, so I would start from them to check if its ok or ot haha

        These carbs were mistreated and i cant imagine which one of the sizes it have would be the most recomended.

        Using a small jet could harm the engine in some way?

          Lean can burn a hole in a piston, or burn a valve.

            The plugs have carbon built in, hence why we started taking it apart, but the ignition timing was also incorrect, and the distributor advance was conected in the wrong way (so when you gas up, ot would retard the timing instead of advancing it).

            Many things wrong as you can see hahaha

            Our idea is to get things back to a minimum standard to build up from there :)
