I had the gasket on my throttle body heater fail, so I am going to bypass rather than replace (I live in the PNW). I know I can just tie the hose coming out of the thermostat into the one that goes into the back of block, but I'd prefer to plug the opening on the back of the block (e.g., by removing 28 and replacing with 13/14; https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=11_0119). Anyone done this while the engine was still in the car? It seems like its going to be a real pain to get the connector (#28) out.
For now I'll just put a plug on a short run of hose off the thermostat, but want to tap that for a brass plug too. Got the SSSquid /Silas throttle body bypass plate - it looks nice.
