Are late and early model brake reservoir caps the same size?

I dropped a ratchet on mine and the little cap covering the sensor broke off. I assume it's whats causing my long brake pedal since there's a decent air gap between the blue bobber and the sides of the cap.

Also if anyone in Canada is willing to ship me one I would be so grateful! Cant find one online for under 50cad before shipping :(

I don't believe the lack of cap will have anything to do with a poor brake pedal feel.
