'86 325e TDC flywheel sensor wire connects to?

    Vehicle - 1986 e30 325e stock

Symptom - Engine cranks strong but does not fire. Behaves like zero fuel or zero spark.

Background - Replaced the starter and all 11 cooling hoses. Removed the intake manifold to ease repair and now left with one wire not connected. It is one of the two wires coming off the flywheel TDC and reference sensors mounted on the flywheel housing. One remained connected. Where is the connection for the other wire? The Bentley manual was useless and posts here discuss the issue but not specifically the wire connections.

I found this reference but still can not find the plug as it looks like its the brake fluid reservoir. shouldn't be this hard.

the reference and crank sensors connect to the harness at a bracket on the engine. the plugs are right beside each other on the bracket.

the bracket the sensors go to is #5. the connectors and sensors are identical, so be careful not to mix them up when installing.

Thank you. This helps clear up the confusion. I have that bracket in hand as I could not remember where it connected before removal. As you warn, confusion remains with what goes with what. lol

UPDATE - Issue resolved. The bracket holds the two connections for the flywheel sensors. Got the wire connected and the bracket back on. Click image for larger version
