    MarkD & 19# injectors - just plug & go?

I've searched and tried to find the definitive thread on this but no luck. I've got myself a shiny new MarkD chip spec'd for my M20 at 91 octane w/19# injectors. I've also got myself a somewhat less shiny set of cleaned 19# injectors.

From what I read installation sounds like:
    1) Install chip
    2) Install injectors
    3) Start her up and idle for ~5 minutes
    4) Flog the car for 15 minutes or so

That it? Do I need to go through any more complicate procedure or is it really that simple?

    Thanks!

    Yes.

Doesnt need to idle for 5 min. Just putt about easy-like. Its better to feed the computer some variation.

Do the 19# injectors do anything (or even work) for the chipped etas out there?

Off the top of my head, no. But that depends on which eta we're talking about. The pre-'87 eta, using Motronic 1.0, already has 18# injectors. Low impedance injectors, so the standard 19# will not work properly. The s-eta with Motronic 1.1 is a different animal. Apparently the stock injector (716) is a 12.5# high impedance unit. In that case, yes, the 19# upgrades will work. (Can't say I've seen a M1.1 chip though...)

Need more fuel for an eta? Look at the 201 injectors from a M30B32 (533i,733i). 24#, low impediance. There's your eta upgrade.

yes, the 19lb injectors do something especially the design IIs

and no the 19lb injectors wont work in an eta. The super eta is, like posted above, a completely different animal. The fact that the eta injectors are low impedance makes swapping them out completely out of the question.

you should change the oil for the heffer shaft for it to work better

Maybe too obvious to say, but make sure your gas tank is full of the 91 octane the chip requires, or the engine will detonate. I'm having to wait until I burn up all my el-cheapo low octane gas before I install my Mark D 91.
