327i SWAP Quick HELP!!

Im doing the swap with my 1986 325es block and pistons and im installing an 325i head (885 head?) and intake mannifold, TB, etc.

My question is the wiring harness, AFM and ECU i found available here are from a 1989 or 1990 325i. Would these work????

Yes those should work.

Wiring harness will be different. You have an early model harness, therefor you will want to find an 87 325i harness.

So they would work? I got them as a package with the whole head, afm,etc.
Would really suck if it doenst work and have to spend more $ on another one...
Also does the ecu need to be any particular year? The one I have is 1989...

ok so I would need to get a 1987 I wiring harness , ecu (1987? Or can be 1989-90) and afm fron what year?

AFM and ECU arent year specific in this case I dont think. But you have an early model and need to use an early model 325i engine harness.

You can use that harness if you are willing (and able) to modify it slightly. If you want ot go that route I can dig up the data on what I had to do to use a 1990 harness in my 87 325is.

So Im doing this swap next week also (ex the head) and I have an 87 325. I have a harness from an 89 325i, this will work correct?

Its ok. as long as the ECU and AFM dont matter that they are 1989 because the wiring harness i can change for a 1987 325i without any problem!!!
