I wouldn't worry about it, I think it would be a waste of money. Most e30's don't have the fuel cooler. It's just one more part you're throwing on the car that could fail but won't likely offer any noticeable benefits.

I don't know the math behind it, but I think reducing the fuel temp reduces the mixture temp (good thing) while also reducing evaporation rate (bad thing).

I don't think vapor lock is an issue on our cars, as most coolers advertise it to be.

Yeah people use them. It's the same thing as a fuel cooler (it is a "fuel cooler", actually). What's the point on an EFI car though? The whole point with carb'd cars is to prevent vapor lock while running through the hot carb. With EFI, the fuel is moving so fast that you shouldn't be experiencing that. And reducing fuel temp a few degrees, if it even happens, isn't going to do much for you.

You aren't going to add 5hp or add life to your engine by adding a fuel cooler. You're going to add another possible mode of failure.

I ripped those things out on both my eta's.....

There is no need for them and like everyone said they are just another thing to break. just bypass it.
