The thing is, the O2 gets excluded at WOT AFAIK, unless the M20 is different from most other motronics of the era. So it would make sense.

I think his air fuel ratio was in the 10:1.

His O2 was fucked then. Mine was actually slightly lean, albeit on a non-stock motor.

Is yours the latest revision? I was hoping that it would be 100% plug and pray (err, play). ie, no soldering.

30 minutes. just need to solder a 12v the use some hose clamps to attach the MAF, plug it in and drive away.

Oh okay, that makes sense. I'll just rebuild the stock injectors and look into the miller Maf - stock injectors should be paired with the maf correct?

Thanks for all the help guys.

Isn't it bad for the injectors to be maxed out at wide open throttle? The point of upgrading the injectors would be making the car as healthy as I can.

Also - what's it take to wire the Maf into the car? Just find a 12v source?
Those are the people that need to start maintaining their injectors and probably the rest of the fuel system aswell.

    It's just internet hearsay.

Do you think BMW would really release a car that had insufficiently sized fuel injectors?

Trust me, I bought the "best" chip and 19lb injectors and noticed absolutely no gains in power/torque. I just gained a higher rev limit.

If you really want to make the car "healthy", get the MAF conversion kit.

IIRC, all you need is a 12v source and splicing a wire at the DME.

Would buying a FPR,and turning the fuel pressure down a notch help? I think the stock FPR is set up for 3.5 bar or something? so run 19/17lb at 3.0 bar?

Ive just been gathering bits and pieces of information from a bunch of different threads. Let me know if i'm completely wrong.

    Sorry for the thread jack.
Motronic should have no dramas running 17lb but why do you need even them on a stockish M20? Alpina used stock ones for more than 200hp

no use getting an adjustable FPR complete waste of money, and stock is 3b B25 and 2.5b B27

actually you don't need more than the stock ones, just make sure they are good..........easily the best option.
