yes it is completely enclosed, and If you stick your hand in front of it while revving it will suck your hand up;) its really surprising how much suction it produces. adding a separate shield would be like adding a shield around the stock air box its not really needed, and will complicate the installation.

No I believe they it comes with a 14lbs stock setup chip or a 19lbs chip.
For $600 you can get the miller maf and a W.A.R. Chip witch stands for write and remap. you can download different tunes or customize your own. For instance I'm gonna be running the combo with stock 14lbs tuning but when I get more familiar with remaping and all the timing and fuel adjustments I can put my 17lbs injectors in and make a custom tuning for it, then share it with others in the "W.A.R. Room".

They both perform the same, the carbon one is slightly quieter but sounds "cooler" IMO. Its got a different kind of sound to it, the carbon fiber kit weighs half as much, and get consistently cool IAT's.

How does this compare to the M30 AFM?
m30 AFMs cause a lag in throttle response, make the car run lean, and my car was actually losing power with it. The miller maf is 100x better than the M30 AFM. I kept on posting threads because my car was leaning out, turns out thats just what the M30 AFM does.
