    Coolant Temperature Sensor - Is This Correct?

    Hey guys,

    Im confused as to whether these sensors are in the correct position or swapped. I looked at RealOEM.com but I'm double guessing myself. This is an image taken from the passenger side towards the driver side engine bay. Is the blue one the CTS and the brown one the temperature gauge sensor?

    You are correct.

    Blue is for DME, brown for the gauge.
    The current fleet:
    1992 325ic: 148k-171k miles
    1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD, 114k-142k miles
    1984 MasterCraft Stars and Stripes Powerslot (not a car :D) PCM Ford 351W, 904 hours

      as long as you have brown/brown and blue/blue, you're good.

        How do I check if they're corroded? How do you take these sensors off? I fear breaking the clip.

          press in the metal clip and the plug pulls right off. You'd have to try to break one.

          you can visually see if the plug is corroded. it should be a bright gold/silver color. if it's green/blue and nasty looking you'll know.

              So...if the CTS is corroded, wouldn't that trigger a code within the DME? I did the stomp test - 1444, so it's clear.

              I'm only speculating at this point. I have yet to look at the CTS.

                The 2 sensors have a different thread size, so they can only go in one way.
