    M20 Stroker Build Questions

I've decided I'm gonna build a stroker 3.0 litre motor for my e30. I am gonna part it together and I have already searched, emailed, called shops, etc for answers when it come to it.

The head work and questions on that has been taken care of, I just need a little help with the block internals.

First, the crank, I understand that you can use either a m52, m54, s50, s52 crank but the stroke varies from 84, 86, and 89.xmm. I know all of them will work with 135mm rods with custom pistons of course.

My question is this, what is the benefits/non benefits of using the different cranks?

      uh, more stroke? ;)

if you are getting custom pistons anyway, the cost difference between the different cranks is negligable. that means get the longest stroke you can. although the 84mm crank is definitely no slouch. it might like to rev a bit more, but I'm not sure how much difference there would really be - it's not like the S52 was a truck motor.
