    524td turbo/exhaust manifold on m20?

So i was told the 524td (e28 turbo diesel) turbo/exhaust manifold would bolt right up to an m20. with the intentions of going turbo because of this, we found the e28 turbo diesel at a junkyard, so i got the manifold got back and put it up to an I head, only the top row (6) bolts would go in but the bottom row was about 1/4 inch off.

Moral of the story, anyone know anything about this? please do share.

It has to be notched out to fit properly.

Check the F/I section for more info.

it doesn't bolt right up, it needs to be slotted/modified.

also, the manifold isn't that great, it's restrictive and the turbo that comes on the TD motor would be a butt plug on a M20B25.

I'd sell it and look for one of those john volk manifold adapters instead
