    Off-set valve keepers available?

    Hi,
I heard that there are off-set keepers, maybe .050" which tightens the springs a little and makes up for a valve grind.

Is there such a thing for a M20 885 head?

    thanks, Chuck

Do you mean over sized eccentrics? Try bmpdesign

neither of those things would tighten up the springs. I am unaware as to if there is anything though, if there is VAC would probably sell it.

Picked up a couple oversized eccentrics from bmp, and they also have valve caps.

Tightening the springs won't substitute for a valve job. If the valves are won and leaking, tighter springs won't stop those leaks.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

And how is it that valve spring shims would not tighten the springs???

FYI, From grinding seats and valve faces will increase the installed height of the valve spring measured from spring retainer and spring seat/pocket. Shims are used at the base of the valve springs to increase tension back to proper seat pressure.

He did say "makes up for a valve grind" so sounds to me like he has this covered
