    Engine Maintenance Check List.

It would appear it's time to do some maintenance work on my engine. I have never done any serious engine work, so I thought i'd run my plan by someone else. So far the plan is to replace the water pump, fan clutch, and timing belt. Here is my parts list so far:

    Timing belt
    Water pump w/ gasket
    Fan clutch
    Valve cover gasket
    Timing belt tensioner
    Rocker shaft gaskets
    Cam seal and o-ring

    Other necessities for the job:

    Coolant
    Gasket sealant
    Fluid catch pan

I think thats everything I have. Am I missing something or should I replace anything else while i'm in there? Also, any words of advice/warning would be appreciated.

Does the oil pan need any attention? How about the accessory belts? You listed all the main front-end stuff. That's about a days work, taking it easy. Just make sure you have a paint pen or china marker to mark the front hub to the block, the OEM marks are hard to see.

Oil pan is good. Accessory belts do not exist because I run no A/C no PS. Good heads up on the marker. I'll be sure to have one on hand.

I inspected it while I was checking the fan clutch. It looks good.

Im running no PS because of many reasons. I don't mind the extra effort, I like the full road feel, I run 195's so it's light, the car is light, it relieves a "slight" drag on the crank, it simplifies the engine bay, and it's one less thing to fill fluid or have leak.

Also, one of my lines was leaking and I didn't feel like paying to fix something I have no need for.
