    Coolant in the engine oil????

I was checking the oil yesterday, when I noticed what looked like antifreeze mixed with the engine oil on the dipstick. I know this is likely not good, but can someone tell me what the problem is, and what it would take to fix.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks. What kind of cost and /or time involved in both these scenarios? I am trying to sell the car, and need to know what kind impact it has on the sale price.

You need to drain the oil and check for "milkshake". Seeing emulsion of the dipstick or under the valve cover doesn't necessarily mean that there is a head gasket leak. It could just mean that the car hasn't been driven hard enough, long enough, to boil off condensates.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks guys. This would make sense, as I have not driven the vehicle much in the last year (maybe 500 miles). I will do a flush and drive it a bit, and check again.

          Thanks again.

If it is the m20, Coolant in the oil means its time for an engine swap. Do the s54!

If your not loosing coolant then it's just condensation most likely.

depending on your finances, do a swap. head gaskets are doable if not. do more matinance while your there tho. water pump, t belt. gaskets. nice little tune up!
