    High Idle...I think?

86 325E. New to E30s, but not to wrenching. Not enough to say I'm a pro, but there aren't many projects I won't at least screw up in my own driveway before calling in someone that really knows what they're doing.

After chasing down a few vacuum leaks that were causing an erratic idle and fixing them, I think it's still idling a little high.

The tach on the dash says it's around 750-800. It just sounds like it could run slower and still be stable. What's the factory spec?

Gonna start looking in to the idle air valve, but wanted to make sure I'm not crazy first. Just don't know what a good factory idle should sound like.

    700 +/- 50 (might be 750, I don't know, it's around there)

I wouldn't sweat 750-800. sounds perfect to me.

It's a manual trans. Worth mentioning is that I'm also "between mufflers". Factory was rotted out, so I cut it off. Might just be the droning that's bothering me.
