    Quick question

I have a line on a 2.7L OR a 2.5L with full accessories for the same price. What would you guys do. Its going into a 85 325e so the 2.7 would be a direct swap but I heard the 2.5 makes more power. Its one or the other i cant afford both. Thanks guys....:)

I'd stick the with the 2.7, because I'd rather not deal with swaping stuff e to i and I'd rather drive the car.

Well....the current motor doesnt run (bent valve and other damage) so the complete i motor would be swapped in. Not just the components. And since the engine bay would be clear I dont think a harness swap is that hard. I am a helicopter electrician....lol. I was just wondering as a performance upgrade/future F.I. (2.5-2.7 GAINS)....

I'd go with the M20B25 over the M20B27 any day. The performance difference is quite noticeable. If you go the M20B25 route, you'll need the complete engine, harness, DME, and AFM.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'll let you have my 2.7 for freees if you come down and help me pull it.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

Well, in that case, go for the 2.5.

Damn....really? I might just need a head but I would rather just swap in a new motor and rebuild it at a later date. The 2.5 with EVERYTHING is 250 bucks...lol...hmmmmm

i would go 2.5 because it will have more power and be more fun. with the 2.5 you can also legitimately swap in a manlier tachometer...

B25 for sure. unless you buy both and make a stroker the B27 is otherwise mostly useless.

Yea...the B25 it is I guess. Just need to pick it up. And who knows what the damage is on my 2.7 so I might just build that as a spare...lol. Thanks peeps.....

Well it turns out one of the motors I was interested in WASNT an M20. It is an M50 2.5 (M50B25?) out of a 94 325is. I need this car to run soon and have no money to get any of the parts needed. But I think in the long run an M50 would be better??? Lemme know what you guys think. Oh, plus I will have the 2.7 (in the car now) to tear apart and rebuild as an extra...lol.

The M50 would be better in the long run, due to less maintenance requirements. It's a more involved swap than the M20.
