    Why so many ECMs?

    I've been stacking my ECMs and noticed I hardly ever get two of a kind, and I ind no ryhme or reason to the use, I found 9 for just the M20 i motor, granted the first is an early spec, but the rest are all 87-91 or a few 92-3 cabrios, are there advantages of some ECMs over others?

    This place is like catholic school, 2/3 of the students smoke weed on a daily basis, but the faculty seems to convince the outside world that drugs are just in the other schools, the resident pot dealer thinks he's cool because he has the originality to call anyone he doesn't like a homosexual, and most of the little children follow him like sheep, then there's the few with brains, you hardly ever hear from them, perhaps don't even know they exist, but they get all the sh!t done.

    well 1.3 is pretty much better than 1.0 or 1.1, but otherwise it doesn't matter much. 173 is more common and easier to find chips for though.

      The 351 and on M1.3 DME's are capable of showing more fault codes than the 173's as well

        Good deal, I take it 173 chips won't work in the other 1.3 ECMs, I've noticed my 91 and 92 have a fuse on the wiring loom that my '88 does not, these have the 524 and 525 ECMs, is that the fuel pump fuse I have read about?
