also keep in mind that "new" DME from the boneyard could be bad. That was my first attempt to fix my DME, and I managed to pull one that worked even worse. (did not start, no matter what)

I'm not saying go pull another one, but see if you can find someone with the same car and a known good one and swap that in for test purposes.

so after my testing i found that the only thing that does not work is the EVAP purge thing.

my oil level switch is not wired up.but thats not somthing that could keep it from starting right?

also, the connecter next to dip stick, the large round one. thats only for doing diagnostic testing right? and the connecter thats from the engine harness to the body harness. is that somthing that could keep the engine from starting if wires were damaged ?

                i checked the

                main relay
                fuel pump relay
                main power to control unti
                main grounds to control unit
                reference sensor resistance (512 ohm)
throttle switch- closed, 1/5 and full open
                ICV
                all injecters
                coolent temp sensor
                etc...

i did the test as described in the bentley manual in the fuel section.

                    Have you resolved the problem?
I'm having the same problem on my friend's car. We've been troubleshooting for the past week now when we have time, but couldn't find the problem yet.
I'm going to his place tonight again, this time we'll try my CPS, if that doesn't solve the problem we'll try my DME.
I checked the coil, the wires, the distributor, the plugs, the fuel, all good, but no spark.
So I'm assuming it's the CPS, so we'll see tonight, but I'm asking you if you fixed your car, maybe it's something else.
