    32mm bicycle headset wrench

It is a left handed thread so when standing at the front of the car looking at the engine, you want to turn the wrench clockwise as if you are tightening it, to loosen it.

Don't drop it and dont lay it down, keep the fan upright at all times.

put tension on the belt with your hand to keep it from slipping. If that doesnt work then get creative

Spray some PBlaster on the nut and let it seep into the threads overnight. Then put tension on the wrench and hit it hard with a hand sledge (striking from the exhaust side of the engine towards the intake side). That usually breaks the nut free. If that doesn't work, use a large flat blade screw driver against the water pump pulley bolts as a counter hold.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had a really stuck fan nut once. I took a piece of flat stock, drilled a few holes in it, then bolted it on to the pulley. I had to bend it backwards slightly for it to clear the wrench, but it got the job done.

Those bike wrenches are cool if the nut isn't on too tightly. If the nut is rusted on though, it will destroy one of those wrenches with a quickness. I got a set of Harbor Freight wrenches that had a 32mm in it (I think that's what size this is) for about $16. Those were more than beefy enough.

if no one in your area has 32mm, 1 1/4 inch works well also. Took the flat stock thing plus my wrench to get mine off, they can be a royal pain in the ass sometimes

i wedged a big screw driver between the pulley and the bolts that hold it on to keep it from spinning while loosening the nut. (same idea as the guys that used flat-stock, just simpler as most people have a big screw driver in their set of tools)
