did I buy the wrong oil pan?????

I have a 84 325e and it had a cracked pan when I bought so I bought a nice used pan on egay, they said it would fit my car and it does but theres a big hole next to the oil sensor..is there a plug for it or do I have to buy a new pan without the hole???? the pan is exact to the old one except that hole...

Do you mean a hole about 5/8" in diameter? If so you probably have a pan from the engine used in a 5 series where that hole is used for the dipstick. Other than the that hole the pans are the same. So you can plug the hole and use that pan.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'd tap the hole and plug it with a bolt and crush washer.
