my Port and Polish ?

    my Port and Polish ?

    Ive had my top end ported and polished by the PO.

    How do i find out what they did? like are there different sized ports ? I just dunno anything about this . thnxx.

    Take the head to a machine shop and they will tell you if it has been ported. 9 time out of 10 he just took a dremel to the runners which is not porting.

      Its a FACT that its been ported.
      I just wanna know how much and how big of a difference it mkes from a stock m20.

          have it flow'd and see how it compares to a stock part. Or just run it and don't worry about it. :)

              Just about no difference by itself. In fact, actual "porting" just might do some harm, if you didn't do anything about the tuning (at minimum).

                good porting can make a difference, but mostly above 11mm of lift where the stock port gets really turbulent. of course a stock cam doesn't lift that high either..

                but polishing? you NEVER polish the intake. You can polish the exhaust to avoid carbon build up, and the combustion chamber.

                but basically if somebody just took a grinder and hogged out the ports, chances are it flows less than stock. the issues with 885 intake ports are not size related at all.
