    Fan Destroying Radiator

    Hey E30 friends,

    My Fan is rubbing on my radiator on the right sidecan anyone give me a diagnoses on what maybe causing the problem.
    Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

      Bad motor mounts, bad fan clutch, worn water pump, or the radiator is adrift. Or maybe any combination of those.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        I vote for motor mounts. Had to replace mine last year due to the rubber compound becoming totally deteriorated....the motor had shifted about 1/2" forward from where it belongs.
        Rides...

          Also if the motor has moved forward or in a diagonal position in the engine bay, would this cause an idle problem?
          Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

            The position of the engine, per se, won't cause an idle problem. But what that movement might do the the hoses that run from the intake to the AFM and brake booster could cause problems.

              Hey Thanks Guys for the Info, it was the motor mounts and both were completely broken, I replaced both and Man!!! does it make a difference in how it feels on the road.
