    Chip and Injectors

I bought a used turner chip. I forgot that when I replaced the injectors a while back I used the ford 19#. How much will the different injectors effect the functionality of the chip if it's tuned for stock injectors? Should I just sell the chip and buy a Mark D that's tuned for 19#, or will this chip work?

    Thank you, you smart MF'ers

My guess is that it will run very rich. I do not know what degree of adjustment the ECU can make but I do know that 19# injectors run slightly rich (as per speaking to Mark D myself) even with the "17 or 19# injector chip"

yeah, all the reading I did before i put the injectors in suggested that the ECU could adjust to the 19# injectors. All the reading I've been doing recently has suggested otherwise, but nothing very conclusive. Does anyone know for SURE?

Mine ran fine, I did this like 8 years ago before it was a big deal. I suspect a lot of the guys who had poorly running engines and broken O2 sensors to begin with were the ones who had all the problems. The ECU definitely is capable of dialing back the PW based on EGO feedback (both in real-time and over the long term), but I don't know how exactly large that window is.

You used a chip tuned for stock injectors with 19# injectors as well, Nando? If so did you feel or notice a difference?

yes, it basically ran the same, only my MPG meter was off. No change in fuel economy either. actually on a totally stock motor, there's really no point.

You'll be fine man. If not, change the injectors for some M50 ones.

so would a better option be to switch back to stock injectors and run this turner chip, or keep the 19# injectors, sell the turner chip, and get a Mark D chip tuned for the 19# injectors?

My 19# always ran like crap, even with mark D chip tuned for it. Runs better with stock.
