Anybody know about this motor? (hartge e21 maybe?)

    hey guys

I needed a head for my eta motor and I found this complete motor (in pieces) at a local porsche/ audi shop and the owner wants to clean the shop up bad enough that he gave me the motor.

Heres what i know: It looks like an e21 motor to me. It has some sort of mechanical fuel injection. It is a ~79mm bore so looks like a 323i. It has a killer Hartge valve cover. It has a 7 journal "200" head casting.

    Heres some photos:
Any idea if any of this stuff is worth money? (im keeping the VC though)

Is there any way to ID a Hartge bottom end/head?

    Thanks!!!!

323i engine on K Jetronic I believe with distributor on the block. I wonder if it's a Hartge engine or just a valve cover.

The valve cover is worth some cash. The fuel injection isn't worth much. I just took an intake to the dump last week. Now, the head could be worth some money if a Hartge. On my 83 (E30) Hartge the head is stamped on the drivers side between the first and second intake runner. Could be a nice bolt on for an ETA (same 200 series head).

Awesome I'll have to look it over for some Hartge markings. I figure either way the 7 journal head will be cool on the eta block. More fun than the stock stuff at least haha

thanks guys and any more info on how to ID hartge part would be great
