M20 auto ecu

Hey I'm taking a 2.5 out of a buddys car and throwing it in my 318. His ecu is from an auto car and I'm obviously thorwing in my manual car. Will it still work? And mods I needa do? If it doesn't work, I can get a manual ecu but will the harness still matchup? Thankyou

That will work fine. The DME is the same whether the car has a manual or automatic transmission for US production. Only very late non-US cars ever got the electronic transmission that uses a different DME.

I have a 1991 with an automatic and am using a chip made for a manual trans car. No change, nothing has been affected.
