    How to install MSD 6AL help???

    I got my MSD 6AL and want to install it today but have no idea how.

    Are there any diagrams or any tips on to where to install it and what cables to tap, etc??

    LOL did a search and im answering my own question.....

    Is this about right?

    "got it all figured out, i was trying way to hard, for anyone who wants to know how to install a MSD 6al on thee car here it is...

    orange to positive side of ignition coil
    small black to negative side of ignition coil
    small red to wire that was on old positive side of ignition coil(green wire)
    small white to wire thatt was on old negative side of igniton coil(black wire)
    big red to continuos battery voltage(top terminal on junction in battery tray for trunk mount batterys)
    big black to ground(valve cover bolt makes a great spot)
    AND THATS IT the purple and black wire on the other side are not used"

      When you take it for a test drive, let me know if it makes any difference over stock.

          Despite what some people say, yes it does make a difference. I installed one in a old 325is and I could chirp the tires into 3rd, with out the box/coil I could only chirp in 2nd. The box I had ended up burning out due to water damage, so make sure you mount it where it wont get water in there.

            If you haven't done anything to cause increased cylinder pressures inside the engine, these aftermarket boxes aren't needed.

            Unless of course your stock one was just in poor condition, in which case, a good condition stock one would have the same affect.

              yes, because being able to chirp tires in different gears is an accurate representation of power output. :???:
