ETA running really strangely. swapped lots of sensors and still.

the car in question is a 1985 ETA

we just did a ton of work on it and now, its back together and it wont run right.

we've replaced in the last week on the car
    1.) timing belt
    2.) FW
    3.) clutch
    4.) 02 sensor
    5.) plugs
    6.) wires
    7.) dizzy cap and rotor
    8.) AFM
    9.) intake boot

cleaned ICV, still runs like poopy.

any ideas? nothing in the search was quite like this just because of how much shit I have replaced at once

I agree with SpecM. Have a smoke test run on the intake to find all of the intake leaks.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

ill give it a go. would seem weird that it ran fine with the broken boot but cant run with the new boot.

time to break out the crab cleaner as I don't have an intake fogger

yeah, just did the belt and made sure it was set properly

the only other thing I can think of is: we just did the clutch and flywheel, does it matter where the slug was oriented before on the old flywheel?

car seemed to run ok with open headers too for some reason

got it to idle properly, now whenever i touch the gas, it misfires like crazy and loses revs.

Just out of curiosity: how did you manage to have it idle properly?

what about if you just unplug the icv?

and nothing really compares to a fogger. its worth it to go to a shop and have it done.

Ok, question-you said you replaced the flywheel. Did you buy a new Luk dual mass flywheel that is listed for the eta engine? If so, did you 100% fully verify that it has the small 'slug' as you say on the edge of the flywheel?

yes. the single mass is from my 86 325es. it has the slug

the only thing is, i didn't pay attention to the orientation before re assembly, im thinking if its lines up differently, it may be causing the problems.

may have to convert to motronic 1.3 after all.
