My Nissan and my Audi had specific procedures for how to operate the car right after resetting the ECU. It usually involved a period of idling and driving it. I know people will say "drive it like you stole it" but I am curious as to whether there is any specific procedure to help the DME/ECU adapt and do its job the best. I ask this with the understanding that you are supposed to start off with all sensors in good condition and no intake leaks.

If the engine and all parts of the engine management system is in good operating condition and there are no intake leaks, what little adaptation needed will be accomplished withing the first 100 miles of driving. No special procedure is needed, just ordinary street driving.
What you are talking about with the Audi & Nissan is subjecting the car to a Standard Driving Cycle to get the DME to go to a Ready state. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
