    Need cam thoughts.

Continuation on the 2.8 build. I have virtually everything I need. I have:
    - 2.8 crank (cut down by 8.25mm)
    - 2.7 rods (stock)
    - 2.5 pistons (stock)
    - Rebuilt head (3 angle w/ 30 deg. back cut, stock valves)
    - Miller chip and MAF combo
    - 19# injectors

    - Headers

    * Keep in mind... with the crank/rod/piston setup... the piston is .5mm lower than stock height.
    * Automatic transmission. I will probably stay auto as I have a bad left knee.

This will be a street car. Used to have fun around town. And on occasion a 2 hr trip up to Lubbock, TX and back. Fuel mileage isn't that important. I just don't want a crappy idle.

I would like to get opinions on the cam choice. Even if stock is preferred, that's cool. I am at the point of the build to putting it all back together but not sure if i want to do anything with the cam.

    Thanks, Robert

If you are referring to the off-the-shelf Schrick, it's actually a dual pattern 284/272. That is pretty much as aggressive as you can go without getting valve springs. You may, however, want to grab a cam gear or something as the 284/272 is known to barely tap the tops of the pistons with a 2.7 crank--a 2.8 will only exacerbate the issue.

      Also, crappy idles are cool.

with a 2.8 crank and 130mm rods, the pistons will sit .5mm lower. So, he may not have this issue

So... a 284/272 won't have to bad of an idle?

No go, on the stall converter.
