    Throttle body vacuum plugs

So the plugs (in the red ovals) are not sealing well and causing a leak. Would anyone happen to know where I can get new ones online? Or at least get me a part number? RealOEM.com's diagram only shows eta TB's.

Or do I need another throttle body with the plugs already pressed in?

Those part are not available as separate items, only as part of the throttle body. They wear from vibration and loosen. You can replace the entire throttle body, or fix the one you have.

To fix those loose connections, remove the elbows and clean the mating surfaces with acetone or lacquer thinner to remove all oil/dirt. Then apply JBweld to the mating surfaces and allow it to cure overnight before reconnecting the hoses or running the engine. That fix should be good for the next twenty years.

or loctite. The ones I've taken apart look like they used red loctite to hold them in place.

I wouldn't trust JB weld to hold up under prolonged high temps

JBweld is good to 500F, which is way way beyond anything the throttle body will see. See http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php

Thanks guys, I tried black RTV and let it sit for two days. Isn't sealing completly. Guess it's time to try JB Weld.

I just used some loctite and then listened for leaks with a vacuum hose. Seems to have quieted down a bit and it's a lot more sturdy.
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
                  Mark: "You never will."
