    fuel injector removal

So i have been searching for a diy writeup on injector removal. I have been unable to find one. The pelican parts on does not give a great description on getting the electrical connectors off the injector and the bentley just says to remove the entire fuel rail first. Niether option seems to be great.

    Anyone have any other ideas???

I pull the vacuum tube off the valve cover,
use a flat head screw driver to pop the metal clips off the injector plugs,
unplug the injectors and temp sensors
unscrew the 4(?) bolts holding in the rail
    - can't remember, but you may need to remove the FPR
pull up on the rail and wiggle it out

Pulling the valve cover will give you more room to work with.

is your car early or late? if it's early you have to compress each clip by hand, but the clips are big so it's not hard.. if it's late, just pull up on the injector harness, it pops right off. You don't have to touch the clips.

The fuel in the intake boot could be either:

              1) oily vapor nonsense from the PCV hose

              2) actually fuel from a bad FPR allowing fuel to get sipped into the intake manifold

I would bet that its #1 but #2 is still possible
