    Gearboxes

I'm currently doing an m20 conversion at this stage I'm collecting parts such as the 731 cyl head, harness, ECU, radiator and manifold. Right now I'm on the hunt for an eta block.
Anyway my car is a late e30 318i manual coupe. And I thought I could keep my exisiting drivline since the bell housings on my gearbox are the same between the m40/42 and m20 engines and other 24v engines. But just recently on my local forum site some dude decide to shatter my dreams and told me it's not possible. This is just one guys opinion and I think he is wrong lol.
What are your guys thoughts. E30 conversions are more common in the states so I think it's best ask you guys since your more experienced with these things.

he's wrong, it's possible, but the main issue is the M42 sits at a slightly different angle. It's like using a Getrag 260 on an M50 swap, only in reverse. so there will be some work with the trans brace and shifter.

What kind of angle are we talking would the gearbox need to be raised or lowered to fix up the angle. Is it a difficult job?

the gearbox will tilt 10 degrees to the left (counter-clockwise). Don't raise or lower the tranny, the brace must be moddified to counter the tilt

Hmm since I have a g260 Gearbox in my garage anyway I think it would be better to source the matching driveshaft and save me from messing around making a different mount to fit a weaker gearbox.
