    Higher Engine Mounts

    Hey,
I was reading on the slammed e30s thread about one of the guys using E36 mounts on his m20 to lift the engine up a bit and get the Oil Pan off the ground that little bit more.
I was wondering if anybody else has done this and would there be any negative effects besides the fact the engine will have a higher point of gravity.

The intake manifold and throttle assembly wont clear the hood.
The proper solution to the problem is to not be a stancewhore.

      ^^ This.

This is almost as crazy as reading on this site the guy that carries a spare oilpan, gasket, oil and pickup in his trunk in case he puts a hole in his oilpan. This is just a bit extreme(as is the OP's thought) IMHO.

Lol, I saw a slammed VW with a spare oilpan displayed on the rear parcel shelf. I :rofl:.

Seriously though, go dry sump. Just eliminate the problem.

Im not at all a stance whore at all I just have the most ridiculous driveway, and my pan scrapes pretty much every time regardless off angle and speed. My car is a little bit lower then stock.

I would of PMd him but im sure he would have no idea if it messed with the driveline.
            Thankyou anyway.

                Not true at all.
Don't speak unless you know what your talking about.

Does my hood look open to you? Or do I have a invisible scoop to clear the TB/intake mani?

Kershaw: If I put a skidplate I think I will basically get stuck on my driveway as it would sit lower then the Pan does now, unless I just get speed up and smash my way on out.

And to bmw325csi, Have you installed different sized engine mounts?

sounds like you need a new driveway.
