Your compression #s are shit. Do a leak down test and if that proves acceptable it is almost certainly cam timing. Yes , all you have to do is align the marks but you may want to double check it next time . -
I know about the mark, if it alligns perfectly then my timing is good? All I gotta do is allign it?
No valvetrain work done recently..I mean I adjusted my valves like 500 miles ago.
I think it must be the timing, I don't see how all of my cylinders would have low compression numbers you know?Leave a comment:

You'll have to remove your distributor cap to see the mark on the cam sprocket, just make sure you mark the plug wires and be careful not to strip the allen screws out holding the rotor.Leave a comment:

Yep, WOT and the wet test didn't yield better results.
How do I check the timing? What do I have to remove?Leave a comment:

Damn those numbers are shit. You held it at WOT while cranking, right? Try a wet test, put a little oil in each cylinder before you do the test, see if that helps any.
Checking the timing is pretty easy, just make sure the marks still line up.Leave a comment:

Yes, and the test yielded low numbers in all cylinders, around 90-70PSI. My compression gauge is good as well. My HG is new, I know that my head has a small crack in one of the coolant passages, but i've driven like this for more than 4000 miles and it hasn't affected anything.
Would it be possible that my belt skipped a tooth? I was running on the car extremely hard the week it broke down. Would skipping one tooth do any damage?
How would I check my timing? I don't want to pull my crankshaft pully out..that would be QUITE tedious.
Though I do apprecaite the help..ANYTHING at this moment would be helpful.Leave a comment:

Yeah nope, not the distributor..
The only thing I can complaint from the distributor is that my rotor is rubbing slightly against the distributor but im still getting good spark so that's ruled outLeave a comment:

That's weird. My car did the SAME thing about 3 weeks ago. I pulled the distributor and there were some loose wires. All was well after that.
I see you have replaced it twice, so that prolly has nothing to do with it. Just thought I'd share.Leave a comment:

i can't fucking stand this anymore, im going to get a craigslist ad ready because this car is absolutely killing me.
Here's the last time the car was running:
It sounds like it's on 5 cylinders. The morning after that it refused to start.
I'm getting spark.
I'm getting fuel.
I replaced the distributor and rotor twice.
I replaced the injectors twice.
I replaced the spark plugs.
I checked all sensors and they all read to spec
Checked the main relays
Rockers are good
CPS is almost new
Don't see how an AFM would fuck it up
I replaced the DME for another one
I cleaned out virtually every single connection on the car. Except C191...I can't get it apart
On sunday it almost wanted to fire. I checked my new spark plugs and plugs 2,4,6 looked ignited while plugs 1,3,5 were still looking new.
Please help....fucking losing it.Last edited by lolcantturn; 02-12-2011, 01:48 PM.Tags: None
