Block warped??

^ Thats what I'm going to do AND worldpac just showed up with my new head bolts. Basically what happened is it had an issue with it running a bit too warm, diagnosed that it in fact it did have a blown h/g. So, I pulled the head took it over to the machine shop. Milled it and got valve job. Cleaned the block off slapped a new h/g with a whole shit load of new parts (i.e. timing belt, hoses. etc.). Started up fine ran for about 15 minutes then I had to run to airport to pick up my buddy. Came back and saw that there was oil coming from h/g on the exhaust side in the front and in the rear exhaust side. I was just referring back to the text my buddy sent me about torque specs. Text read: 30 nM next 90* and another 90*. Fucking nM?!?! After pissing and moaning about having to pull my head off. I came to work and checked on Mitchell he was wrong. So, I ordered new head bolts and going to torque them PROPERLY. I'll keep you guys updated.

This is why it's worth getting a Bentley, if only for torque specs.

Torque spec. for an m20 with torx bolts is 22 ft. ibs., wait 15 mins. and torque 90*, wait another 15 mins. and repeat the process once more time.

I would guess that if you didn't properly torque the head down before running it for the first time then the headgasket is toast and needs to be replaced.

yeah dude, sounds like you need to redo it. lol. have fun with that breather/oil tube from the manifold to the block, that was the single worst part for me, everything else was a breeze.

GL! and dont forget to double check the torque wrench. nM=ft.lb=in.lb ....... not. lol.

also check that the fucking half moons on the rocker shafts (under the valve cover gasket) are in place and PROPERLY sealed. I thought I had the same problem, but it was those fucking half moons leaking like a goddamn sieve
