    I don't like Bosch

Like the title says, I don't like Bosch, nor do I like their Motronic system. I have been having the same problem that a lot of us are having. The hessitation and miss firing. Not being able to r3v past two-thirds of the r3vband.

I have been searching on this site. I learned about the Stomp Test. My car was giving me codes 1221,1222, and 1224. So I looked into those things. I replaced the O2 sensor, that did not fix it. I got a remaned. AFM., that also did nothing. The coolant temp. sensor and switch also did nothing. I checked for leaks. I found none. I checked all the sensors I could think of. They all checked within specs.

So, then I took it to a BMW specialist. I had him do a smoke test on the car plus run some other test. The smoke test showed that I have no leaks. He ran few other test. He tested the fuel system. The fuel press. was thru the roof.(100 psi) So I changed the FPR. That did nothing to help! Then I found out I had a clogged fuel return line (IN THE GAS TANK)! So I replaced the gas tank. As well as replaced a few gas lines and the filter.

I am at my wits end! The next thing I can do is change the injectors. If that does not fix it...I might just sell this car. WHICH I REALLY DON'T WANT TO DO! Can someone,,,anyone PLEASE help me?

Right now. I have one of those CF intake things from KAMOTORS, and a custom exhaust.

I was just going to post cap and rotor^ as well, and suggest wires .

When I first bought my car, the cap, rotor, and wires, (all 3 of them) caused me a massive bog when trying to go anywhere. They were all the original pieces at 188k miles.

after replacing those pieces it ran normal.

I would also look into the ECU/DME being whacked out, try and borrow one from someone or buy a cheap spare , you have got to be really close to the culprit by now

I was going to recheck those. I forgot a few things...I did a minor tune-up last Summer. ( plugs, wires, cap, rotor, valve cover gasket)

Plus I just replaced the group of 3 relays (main, fuel, and O2)

Are you still getting a 1221 and/or 1222? With a new O2 sensor in place those can only be caused by an upset in the A/F ratio.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I am still getting a 1221 code. So should I get another O2 sensor?

if you have a new o2 sensor, are you sure you have no vacuum leaks?

the fuel pressure is normal now (since fixing the return)? you can check each individual injector to make sure they're all flowing properly

There is a good chance it is not the DME. If the engine is struggling at higher revs, especially under load, I would also not suspect vacuum leaks. Is there some way you can get a pressure gauge on your fuel line? That would show fuel delivery problems. How about Seafoam to clean out the injectors, etc?

                          Good luck.

STOP! No more throwing expensive parts at an engine management system you clearly don't understand. My guess is that you may have run rich long enough to damage the Catalytic Converter. The fuel pressure is outside the realm of the management system's control. I believe you may have fixed the cause of your original running issue (the fuel pressure) now look into the aftermath of driving the car with the fuel pressure 2x normal. (ruined cat)
