So Today when driving home from work, my car starts to run like shit out of nowhere and I start to hear a loud valve train noise. Pulled over, took off oil cap while engine running, and no oil was sloshing around in the head like it normally does. Went home, changed oil. Nothing....but a nice blob of metal paste on my magnetic plug.
Took off valve cover. found a Broken rocker arm retaining clip to be the cause of the noise :/
Cleaned out oil tube, it wasnt clogged. did my best with a shitty little compressor and a can of carb cleaner spraying into the oil tube holes on the head.
Started it, not a drop out of ethier hole.
Oil Pressure light doesnt come on.New switch.
Recently "rebuilt" head at machine shop+Head Gasket
two recent valve adjustments.
Have No idea how long my head hasnt had oil going to it. Just thought extra noisy valves was poor adjustment.
Possible thoughts were when the guy whole rebuilt my head cleaned it, he clogged some of the passageways.
If the oil pump pick up screen was clogged, could that be the cause?
Oil pump dead? Again...no pressure light.
Thank you in advanced!
