It Died!!! but in a weid sorta way

So as I was driving along street I hit a bump and my brakes and ABS light kicked on...only for the split second I hit the bump this happened...... after it happened a couple more times all the warning lights on the right hand side of the cluster came on and my car just died!! aaaaand hasnt turnd back on...

I havent had time to look into my car in too much detail as I have exams coming up, but I have tried to check the codes and nothing has falshed at all(it worked previously on a separate problem).

At first I thought the engine was cutting for a split second, and cause i was in gear it was slowing me down so much.
I've read a bunch about relays being the problem when the cars dont start but its why the ABS light came on that confuses me.

As I try and start the car now it turns over, all the warning lights are on (on the right side of the cluster.. parking brake,ABS,etc) and oddly the tach keeps jumping around ..... and it doesnt start...

    any ideas???

when my exams are done/as I procrastinate studying, I'll have more time to look into everything properly but any food for thought before then would be much appreciated!

it ran fine before it just suddenly did this.... also on cold start it doesnt hold a constant rpm it revs to 1100 and drops to 600 constantly until it warms...

Are you dealing with an eta or 325i? And perhaps the year of the vehicle might help in troubleshooting.

        a ground came loose.

check the ground from the chassis to the oil pan.

Will do! But wouldn't the computer still show me a fault code if it was that simple?

so I've been told it was the crank position sensor .... so I went to go check it out as the picture showes and I get a reading that its a short ... I assume that means its garbage considering its supposed to be 520ish ohm's...?
