Ok there is a total of 5 qt supposedly in my car. I have checked it cold hot and on a level surface. The oil is not leaking on the ground. I have checked the dipstick and it is reading just below the last dot on it. I changed my oil today and put the recommended 4.5 qt in it, only to find my oil light coming on after i drive 3 blocks away. there is no smoke, no leaks that I can see, and my light is correct. Where could have all this oil have gone? I know where my oil goes I'm not a dumb ass.

While you don't see oil leaking from the engine when it is sitting or at idle that doesn't mean that it doesn't leak when the engine is at higher rpm (and thus higher oil pressure). Are there any placed on the engine that are wet with oil? If so clean the engine, top up the oil, and dive the car a bit. Then check for fresh oil on the engine. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

dude, if oil is still on the stick, it did not leak out 3-4 qrts
it leaked/burned ONE quart (or the filter you use has a higher oil capacity than OE)
top it off with ONE quart of fresh oil, and drive it around some more. Recheck oil level. If all is OK, then its OK. If not, check harder for leaks.1989 cirrisblau-metallic 325i

Dude it is quite possible the oil level sensor is faulty or has dirty connections. If oil shows on your dipstick at all it couldn't have lost 3 quarts. Running you car with too much oil will blow your rear main seal. If you check the oil when the car has been running some of the oil will be in the head and your reading will be low because it hasn't had time to drain back down to the pan. If you really aren't sure drain your oil and measure the amount you get out. You will then have to put fresh oil in of course.
