    What the heck is wrong with my car?

    Between 1st and 2nd gear, it will randomly shut off, not all the time but some. Just falls on its face, no stumbling then dying. It dies the same way as if you pull the main relay.
    Things recently replaced(last 10k miles):
    CPS
    main relay
    alternator
    distributor/rotor

    Also, if I let it idle long enough with the AC on it will shut off the same way.
    This problem only seems to happen on a hot day

    I'm thinking:
    coil? fuel pump?

    edit: I forgot, it usually starts back up within 10-15 minutes, today it took 35. i LOVE this car right now.

    i think checking the coil and fuel pump are 2 good bets. if they are bad, they can overheat and stop functioning. but after they cool off, they'll work again.

        Hot day? Possibly vapor lock, something clogging the fuel return line or something of that nature.

          it's also happened at night a few times when it wasn't too hot. That's when I left it idling for about 10 minutes each time, trying to provoke the problem.
