    Rev Limiter

I was wondering id any of you guys run any sort of custom revlimiter.
The stock setup sounds real nasty and I am wondering how hard it is on a motor.
I do a lot of autox and have times when i bounce of the limiter on the strai aways.
So I was wondering if i could run something like MSD soft touch to be a little easier on the motor.

It would be nice to be able to bounce of the limiter for that last 100 feet instead of coasting or shifting into the turn.

I am curious if something like this will work better than stock rev limiter.

the stock limiter is fine.. it's a fuel cut. it doesn't hurt anything. a spark cut however can cause broken rockers. what you are talking about is actually harder on the engine than the stock fuel cut.

        Thanks did not know that,
So Guess best solution will be to go with WAR chip at one point so i can adjust the redline when needed,

WAR chip is the best option. It also comes with a switch where you can go between different tunes on the fly, up to four. You could set your everyday tune in one slot, and a more aggressive tune for auto-x that has a lower rev limit on another.

Or just know where the limiter is and not be dumb. Or change your diff to get some more speed out of 2nd gear

Thanks for the great suggestion, except when you race you dont really have time to look at Tach, and on some courses upshifting will cost you more time.
As far as changing gears rations that is not allowed in DSP class.

Unlesss you are switching between grades of fuel, there is no point to a "street" tune vs a "race" tune. There is only tuned, that is the entire point of EFI. The difference between "street" and "race" is your foot, not the ECU.

And even if you wanted to tune all four maps, youd have to dyno tune each for the different fuel grades. Thats in the neigjborhood of $300+ for each map. Im willing to bet nobody will spend that kind of money on tuning, few even dyno tune one map.
