    m20b25 timing belt noise ? ( brand new )



    SKF timing belt and tensionner are brand new
    also the tensionner spring is new
    The noise stays even with the accessories belt removed


    what's wrong ?

    water pump pulley is rubbing on the crank pulley?

      check to see if you tightened the tensioner bolts?

          The sound quality in the video isn't that great but if you are taking about the mild howl and if it is present with the accessory belts removed and if it wasn't present before the timing belt change, I'd have to say it is from the belt. The new parts could be bad. Replace those with a Contitech kit.

            new belts often make a little bit of noise - sort of like a supercharger. it should go away after about 50 miles.

              Is this really the case with conti belts. Mine is making a roaring sound, all new parts and I only let the spring do the tensioning
