    Head pull. PVC?

A friend is pulling the head of his m20 2.5 and he is having trouble with what I think is part of the PCV, pics follow.

Question: How do you remove this piece? I figure you just pull hard but I'd rather know for sure...

remove the intake manifold and it just pops out. its only held in by pressure from the spring.

its called the bitch tube. when reinstalling, use a very small zip tie to compress the spring and slide it back over the tube. then stick the tube in the block. compressing the spring will allow the tube to sit shorter than where it does normally. once the intake manifold is installed, cut the zip tie and remove it. the spring will uncompress and the tube will go to its correct location. make sure it pops into the hole where its supposed to sit.

You will have to push the tube down into the block, compressing the spring, to get the head off. Spray PBlaster or Kroil on each end of the tube and rotate the tube while pushing down.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
