I appreciate the input from you guys, in the end I did what seemed right to me. The leak is definitely less and there are no other problems that sprang from doing this, I call it success. Bought myself some time, I had very little hope to actually fix the leak doing this.

How dose any one know if they were stretched properly to begin with? and What dose he have to loose, checking the 90 lb torque to start? GL

There's no final torque spec. Also, they're stretch bolts so you can't retorque them.

did you tq everything to the right specs ? round 1 ,22lbs . round 2, 90* . round 3 90* ? Clean all that old gasket off?
