    New Oil Pump Recommendations

    Hello All,
I am new to this forum and a recent 1990 e30 owner and I need to purchase an oil pump. Does anyone have any recommendations on a reliable place to purchase from? I see them obviously on ebay but I do not want to have to get back in there if it fails relatively soon. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Matt

I'd go to RM European, Pelican, etc.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

thank you very much. Like i said i am new to the e30 and european cars in general. I have experience with bikes and many toyotas, nissans, and hondas but never wth european cars. I usually order parts from Rock auto but they didnt seem to have the oil pump for some reason so it made me question where.

        Thank you

do you suggest getting a used one? I was going to just go pull one from the yard by my house but i am not sure if thats a good idea with such a part...

          Thoughts?

If there is no scoring on the impeller or cap it should be no worse than a new one. Just replace the pick-up with a new one

It's the tube coming off the oilpump that's sucks up the oil from the bottom of the pan. It does a have a little mesh filter on the end. I think the m20 has a pickup that you can disassemble and clean, so it may not be necessary
