yes, it can take a while to burn all out.Alright guys got the harness swapped, timing belt done, and old changed.
Runs fine now and no more smell of gas. But when the car is warmed up it still smokes. Before I fixed it there was so much gas being dumped onto the cylinders that is was seeping though the exhaust manifolds and dripping out the tail pipe. Is it possible the smoke is just the gas in the exhaust being burnt up?
Also when I changed the oil there was quite a bit of gas in it as well.Leave a comment:

I haven't taking the timing covers off and checked the hash marks but im going to be doing a timing belt on this car too so that should be squared away.If all 3 inj on one bank are fully open, its likely in the harness or computer somewhere. Unless some fault in the wiring messed up that bank of injectors... I dont see how though.
You verified timing was good, that you had spark on all cyl, and you swapped out the fuel rail harness? Swapped out dme or injectors?
I have spark
Swapped fuel harness
Swapped DME
Have not swapped injectors.Leave a comment:

Yes, your fuel injectors would literally be wide open, pouring fuel into the cylinders. WAY too rich to fire, a stock injector is prob capable of what 180hp? How many horses is that motor making at idle? 20? 30?Well I have a bentley but thats about it. So is it safe to say that the reason why I could pull the plug wires on those cylinders is because fuel was just being dumped in at such a rate that the plug would not fire? Wouldn't it just run really rich rather than quit completely? I pulled a plug and grounded it and confirmed that I had spark on those cylinders. Just a little confused about that.Leave a comment:

Reread post #34.
OP. Do you have a wiring diagram for E30? I would start with some continuity tests first to isolate where the problem is. If the car will stay running you also can fairly aggressively bend the harness back and forth all up and down it's length to see if you can make a difference (temp. un-short it) to help pinpoint the offending area.Leave a comment:

Did u check all ur eccentrics to see if they were all there as well?Leave a comment:

The harness is easy to remove and install. You can't really mix anything up besides the CPS and the Pulse sensor plugs. Do eet.Leave a comment:
