M20 crank sensor: 2 per vehicle?

The fap99 website says that my 1988 325i gets 2 crank position sensors. Does that make sense?

If you have a CPS on the front pulley, there is only one. If you have sensors in the trans bellhousing there are two ( speed and reference)

Fap99 is bueno. 325e had 2 CPS in the bellhousing, 325i had 1 on the front of the engine. If you have any worries that you will get the wrong one, just call Tim (the contact # on the site), he is an E30 guy and will make sure you get the right one.

Your car only has a single CPS mounted on the front of the engine. Only ETA cars (through 8/87) had two timing sensors mounted in the transmission bell housing.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks to all. Confirmed part # on realoem.com

          BMA parts was $40
          Fap99 was $56

so it pays to shop around.
